#21157 — Betterbird unified inbox

SubjectBetterbird unified inbox
Message-ID<MPG.44ac561efdede2309896a3@news.eternal-september.org>
I have four email accounts, all IMAP.
I would like to add one unified INBOX on my windows 10 desktop.
Any instructions on the web that I have tried to follow refer to
settings on Bb that I cannot find.
Can anyone who has been successful doing this, guide me through it?

I don't use unified folders, but I think it's as simple as from the menu
View/Folders/Unified folders on, All folders off

Maybe you can't see the required option because you have Menu bar turned
off? If so, this ought to get you there ...

Tried that.
a) All folders are empty although I know I have emails in various
inboxes and others.
b) I only want a unified INBOX, not drafts, sent, archives, junk and
deleted.
I had a more success with Thunderbird, which did give me just the INBOX,
but the account for my domain address was missing and this is my default
address.

TB: Right click on Inbox, Properties, Choose. Select what folders you
want to see in the unified inbox.

I can do what you want in BBird, but I don't like unified folders
either. I mark as favorites the inboxes I want to see, and also the one
junk folder everything gets sent to so I can monitor that. Then I set
the View for just seeing favorites. If I ever need to go into the sent
box or somewhere else all it takes is just show all folders.

I quite like having a unified inbox on my phone (not Thunderbird). I
have so many folders in my windows email accounts that, on second
thoughts, a unified inbox does seem to have the same advantage. I'm
minded to forget about it.

I'm likely missing something in the Geordie's dialogue but:

With Unified Folders engaged in TB... in my folder pane, I see the
usual list of Inbox - Drafts - sent etc. and clicking on any, they
expand to sub-folders of the related (be it Inbox etc.) list of each
of same in my meager list of accounts.

There's no evidence of any 'content' until I open the individual
account sub-folder within Unified.

That would seem correct, so is the Geordie swimming against the tide
on the Tyne?

You're probably right.
I probably did not make myself clear, but in retrospect I have given up
on the idea of using unified inbox on desktop, while still finding it
usful on my mobile's android client.
Sorry to waste your time.

I don't wanna touch "unified INBOX".

Are yuo sure that you wanna use it?

i rather manually copy IMAP messages
from multiple IMAP accounts into a
folder in Local Folders named ....
meow... "Unified". Under which,
classification and categorization.
