Damn it, you've pointed it out, now they'll roll it back, or schedule
the re-instatement of the prior behaviour for the next release.

I see that in Betterbird that was fixed with the 7 Jan release. It
would be interesting if someone did a 'time lapse' comparison between TB
and BB.

<yawn>

North American usage is routinely mm-dd-yyyy.

To avoid confusion, in anything typed I always use an abbreviation for
the mm.

A majority of the world doesn't use this format.

That's a good way to avoid confusion or simply use yyyy-mm-dd.

And your point is? North Americans do... and this was posted by an
Ammurican. Personally, I prefer yyyy-mm-dd, but I'm not going to
demand others follow suit.

It's analogous to much of the English-speaking world's use of
period/full stop for decimal point. (When Aotearoa New Zealand
switched from pound/shillings/pence to dollar/cents on Mon 10 July
1967, it was decreed that prices, billings, and cheque decimal points
should be displayed using the hyphen -- go figure...)

However, I have no problem deciphering what others are trying to
communicate from elsewhere with a comma.

It was meant as humour. Next time I'll add an (-; so it will be clear to
you. (Djeez.)

nothing was released, hold on, Betterbird 128.6.1-bb21 *was* released.

I've noticed that as of 24 Jan 2025/20240125 -- er, 01/24/2025 in case
a Nederlander wishes to observe flexibility -- that TB 128.6.1esr has
not sprouted to my system.

But should we TB'ers all REALLY be wringing hands at supposedly being
upstaged by an offshoot?

On the contrary - there is a sense of suspense and intrigue.

What has happened to the release ?

I think she had something to do with it.

We'll have to wait for the next episode to find out.

*ouch* Did you really just call a Vlaming a Dutchman?
