Local Folders is at the bottom of the Folder Pane

In the latest Daily 89.0a1 users can now create new email accounts in a tab.

The new account is created just above Local Folders

Accounts can be rearranged in the Folder Pane by going to Account
Settings, dragging the account up or down the list and dropping it where
you want it. Even Local Folders!

Other stuff.

What about newsgroups? Can newsgroups be above local folders instead of
being stuck at the very bottom?

Everything will be above Local Folders unless you reorder the accounts.

I like it there. It save me from looking for it when I need it.

I think I've used an add-on to rearrange mine in the past, so will be
good fr it to exist in TB itself

Doesn't work with 78.7.1.

It's always been possible to move folders within an account up and down
that account, but accounts can't be moved. Did it became available in TB
post-78.x.x?

I guess because this function is simply not implemented in 78.x :-).

To re-arrange accounts I use the add-on "Manually sort folders".

Cannot change sort order of accounts (suggested fix: Implement "Reorder
accounts" dialogue, accessible via menuitems from primary UI)

Well spotted! I see that one of the latest posts there has "Target
Milestone: 85 Branch → 89 Branch". I guess it will be sometime before it
appears in Mint's repo.

I believe with the delay announced for the release of Firefox 89.0, that
it will be some time before the next major Thunderbird 91 will be out.

Some users of Ubuntu 18.04 are still waiting for a 78.x.x update from
their outdated, security vulnerable 68.10.0.

Are there any changes to the carddav support?

Funny, you should ask. I'm not a user so I'm not sure.

You can start reading the beta notes starting with version 79 beta and
follow along up to the 88 beta version by changing the version number in
the link.

They say:
"Address book: Synchronization of CardDAV address books now supported"
https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/81.0beta/releasenotes/

And:
"Address book: CardDAV is now enabled by default (it was previously
behind a hidden preference and off by default)"
https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/85.0beta/releasenotes/

And there are many other addressbook fixes. I guess carddav works now.

Thanks for helping me with the links!

With regards,
Paul
