#22056 — prod mailserver?

Subjectprod mailserver?
Message-ID<118k1a5$1j1bk$1@dont-email.me>
(Sorry, I've looked in Tools, and even tried F1.)

Is there a way to prod the mailserver (I use POP) without closing and
opening TB? For example, when "we've sent you a one-time passcode" (or
similar), and I don't want to wait for my next automated prod.

(Although that sort of email often definitely doesn't arrive. I /assume/
that's because of my rather unusual mail setup, but can't see /why/ that
should stop that particular type of email getting through, when the one
telling me about the message - and giving me the link to it - did.)

"... four Oscars, and two further nominations ... On these criteria,
he's Britain's most successful film director." Powell or Pressburger?
no; Richard Attenborough? no; Nick Park!

Thanks - excellent!

No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.

Or right click on the account in the folder pane: "Get messages".

In pop everything comes back; often it comes back before it's even gone
away. - David Hepworth, RT 2026/1/14-20

Also, Get Messages icon in the Task Bar at the top of the screen. If
you have multiple accounts, then that will download messages for all
your accounts (including updating displays on News accounts). Right
click allows you to specify downloading mail on a specified account. If
the button is not there, Right click on the blank space at the left side
of the Task Bar, and then use the dialog to drag-and-drop Get Messages
(or other useful buttons) into the Task Bar.

Additionally, there should be a cloud icon at the top of the Folders
Pane, and that behaves the same way as the Get Messages button does.

Ah, even better; I think I knew about it at one time, but had forgotten
what it meant - a case of for once an icon _not_ being immediately
recognisable. Left-clicking it only gets for what you're currently on -
news if a newsgroup - but I'd probably be on the Inbox if I was waiting
for an email anyway.

Yes, like the Get Mew Messages for under File.

Ah, that's what I've been clicking on; I don't have a Get Messages button.>

That's 'a single item', icon and description, innit?

Unless a user has gone to the trouble to choose not to display icons
via about:config, any of the toolbar options from 'Customise' willl be
paired.
