Fetchmail downloads. I have used pop3 or imap with fetchmail to download
from remote servers to local machine, to then read with Pine.

As we have the Thunderbird group in these posts, TB syncs just fine. I
never noticed a problem, using more than one computer.
Unless you are working offline, then the local version might differ from
the remote version.
