I use gpg tools to authenticate linux distro .iso/s or their checksum 
sigs I dl w/ Kleopatra & gpg4win.

For some reason it is more convenient for me to use the graphical win 
tools than the linux commands for that task.

In reality, I don't really follow a strict web of trust for the public 
key acquisition.  Some linux distro/s don't even make such an 
authenticating .sig available.
