#8662 — SeaMonkey 2.53.24: Enigmail 3.1.9 and Lightning 6.2.24 incompatible?

Hello everybody.

After upgrading to SeaMonkey 2.53.24 my calendars didn't work. After
poking around I discovered, that calendars work if I disable Enigmail
add-on.

Even with Enigmail enabled I can see the upcoming events of a web
calendar in the today pane, but not in the main view.

My local calendars only show up on the left side pane. Their contents
don't show in the main view. I can add new calendars, but the result is
the same. The tab to change Day/Week/Multiweek/Month view also doesn't
do anything.

The mini-month is visible, but different color than with Enigmail
disabled. In the latter case it follows my theme colors.

I installed SeaMonkey from the Ubuntuzilla repository. Running Debian
stable.

Just checking to see if anybody else has the same problem, and perhaps
find a way to solve it.

Hi there,

Yes, I have noticed similar problems. But not tried to reproduce with a clean profile.

An addition to this, the calendar toolbar shows up twice.

I tried with a new profile, that didn't have Enigmail installed. That is 
how I figured, that the problem had to be in my other profile. I then 
installed Enigmail in the new profile and the problem appeared there as 
well.

Yes indeed, I noticed this as well. Or more precisely there were two 
different calendar toolbars, which were independent of each other and 
could be customized separately, if I remember correctly. Didn't recheck.

With Enigmail enabled my calendar doesn't show a grid and I cannot add 
new entries. With Enigmail disabled everything is fine.

With Enigmail enabled the Browser Console shows a number of errors. Most 
of them seem to be calendar related, the last one mentions Enigmail:

Enigmail defines ChromeUtils in the global add-on space:

 > var ChromeUtils = Components.utils;

This needs to go. We should hopefully have backported everything. Calendar was 
moved over to ChromeUtils too so they clash.

Easy fix would be to just rename the Occurences in enigmail to ChromUtilsE or 
something else. The generateQI syntax and functionality is not 100% compatible 
in all cases and need to be checked. Unlike Mozilla we keep both for 
compatibility.

I tried this and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you very much!

Hopefully this doesn't break anything else. And I also hope this gets
fixed in a future release officially.

Thanks for still maintaining it. The ChromeUtils stuff was ported earlier but 
calendar didn't use the generateQI ones till 2.53.24. There were some other 
backports with taking later key events but hopefully all trivial. If not we 
will look to put it back in.

No worries, I found an easy workaround that keeps Enigmail compatible
with both SeaMonkey and Epyrus.

A new version of Enigmail (3.1.10) can be found here (or just use the
Addons Update Check):
