Usually when I see a reminder on BluesNews (a gaming website) that 
a new version is available ;-)

It's usually before Firefox itself nags me that the update is available.

I'm not really that obsessed with updates, so if I miss a reminder 
I don't really go out of my way to check, but since the upgrade process
is so seamless these days, it's usually no bother to do so.

I don't update FFx. I update the system, and sometimes, that includes 
FFx. I don't care. And no, FFx never nags me "there is an update". This 
is disabled.

Every morning I make a backup of Thunderbird and Firefox.
THEN I do the updates.  If anything happens, rarely, then I replace things and keep going.
