Right click on the toolbar

Select "Customize Toolbar..."

Drag the VPN icon into the "Customize Firefox" window and drop it there
along with the other icons you don't use

Click on that window's "Done" button.

The mahoosive monstrosity is now gone.

Of course, if you actually use Firefox's VPN, you wouldn't want to do
all this.

Since you must have or create a Mozilla account in order to use the VPN
and I refuse to do that, I choose to ignore the fact that the VPN exists.

In-place update was never an option back then. We always installed the 
new executable. And you need to keep an executable anyway.

In the mean time, I need to look at numbers more carefully. It's 151 not 
150. Sorry.... :)

It's an easy mistake to make, when I searched bugzilla for the huge vpn 
icon problem, I missed the existing reports because I used 150.0.3 
instead of 151.0.3
