Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64) Firefox 115.27.0 esr (x64) When I launch Firefox, Task Manager shows NINE instances running with various sizes and CPU times. I have only the single basic tab open. I have not selected any URI to visit. The home page is my bookmarks file. Is this necessary? Can I prevent this? -- David E. Started FF, which had been in memory before and prevented my default page from starting. Rebooted and after the boot was complete tried just FF again. Same behavior. Win 7 Pro SP1 (x64) and same Firefox version. I am an experienced multi-task and multi-system application developer. The various memory sizes might be a clue as to thier function. No idea why that many cooperating processes are used.

If I do not see a good answer soon, I will visit Bugzilla. -- David E.
