I think the reason I don't like the tabs having all four corners rounded
is because they're supposed to emulate the tabs on a file folder. When I
look in my filing cabinet, I don't see any file folders with tabs that
have four rounded corners and floating above the actual folders.

As for the overall appearance and rounding the corners on other stuff
like the address field, changes like this just for the sake of change
are a waste of time IMO.

Of course, YMMV.

It's kind of rounded, but not as fully rounded as in 157.

I toggled the about:config preference pointed out by the O.P. elsewhere
in this thread. I found no such setting in about:preferences.

btw, the corners are less rounded. I haven't seen actual square
corners.

sometimes you need to add your own preference (type the missing name,
choose data type, press plus)

an you please explain how to customize about:preferences? I was aware
that a setting may be added to about:config.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention (though Mozilla don't help by calling
the individual entries on the about:config page "preferences")

You want about:config, not about:preferences. Type
browser.nova.enabled in the search box and then double-slick to
change it from true (the default, in normal type) to false (in bold
face, like all non-default settings).

Yea, I know it looks a bit pathetic, but I'm old and 'wunce' I've tweaked
an app to be as I want it, I get miffed when an external source FU my hard
work. :-/

Had the rounded corners not intruded into my below tabs space, I'd
probably just grumped and let it go.

I'm very, very attached (Yea I know pun) to my Tabs below the toolbars.

Tabs above is a crime.

Personal preference.

Because I want my Tabs below the toolbars. In my universe that's the
logical place for them to be.

Many years ago we had a choice of above or below, then some FW decided to
remove that choice.

Some of us used the userChrome file to correct that anomaly.

And still do... on a brand spanking new laptop onto which installation
of both Firefox 157 (and accompanying Thunderbird 156.0.1) plus data
transfer for both went flawlessly.

I'm old too. Sad to see that you obviously don't have higher priorities
and more important concerns than the shape of the corners of your web
browser! I'm enjoying my old age because I finally realize what's truly
important in life, and what's just not worth the time, energy, and
higher blood pressure. Things that used to get me all wound up now just
get shrugged off as too petty to even think about. End result: I'm
happier now than I ever have been. Smile, shrug your shoulders, and
move on to the things that give you joy.

If the shape is so unimportant, why did they spend dev time changing
it? You're trying to eat your cake and have it too.
