But get this: this Makefile <https://github.com/apple/containerization/blob/main/kernel/Makefile> only mentions kernel version 6.18.5, and the Docker recipe <https://github.com/apple/containerization/blob/main/kernel/image/Dockerfile>, <https://github.com/apple/containerization/blob/main/kernel/image/sources.list> only seems to support Ubuntu Focal Fossa for its userland. But that version is from 6 years ago!

Main uses: consistent environments across dev/prod, resource limits per process, higher server density, and disposable/reproducible deployments (esp. with microservices + orchestration like Kubernetes). Tradeoff: weaker isolation than VMs since the kernel is shared. But with macOS the kernel is NOT shared. -- It's impossible for someone who is at war with themselves to be at peace with you.

I do not have MS Office currently, and mostly use Apple Pages. BUT there are times I am working with Markdown files and Pages does not currently handle them well (already been announced it will in the future, but I am in the now). Anyway, LibreOffice handles them mostly well... so I open them with that, save as MS Word, and then open in Pages. A bit convoluted but if it was something I had to do a lot I could likely script it. Also use an app called Read.MD.app where I can get MD files with some HTML embedded to give colors. Weird hybrid things I know some people who produce. -- It's impossible for someone who is at war with themselves to be at peace with you.

Whereas under Winblows all I want is Outlook (and OneDrive and Copilot which come with 365). I don't mind that I have Word and Excel there, for comparison, but I'd be far more likely never to use either of them, but LO's stuff. -- Joel W.
