Hi,

Apple published this guide yesterday.

"About this Guide

This guide provides high-level information about scripting on the Mac
and isn't designed to serve as a language guide. Primarily, it
introduces core concepts, highlights resources, and provides examples
that demonstrate common scripting tasks."

<https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/LanguagesUtilities/Conceptual/MacAutomationScriptingGuide/index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40016239>

This guide covers both AppleScript and JavaScript (which is supported
as a system-level scripting language since OS X 10.10 Yosemite).

Patrick
