Don't know if it's mandatory, but I create a folder called
"portable" in the folder I decompacted it in before running it the
first time. It will write all settings into that folder. I checked and
it does not write anywhere else.
Other than that, this version is not quite stable. My mouse
keeps disappearing inside the program's interface, so I can't click on
pause or move forwards or backwards, and there are a lot of strange
images on my desktop. Dunno what they are called. Debris? Artifacts?
Sort of random stuff with stripes. Probably a feature. Open source
doesn't have bugs. Ask Pooh.
	[]'s

PS Anyone know how to solve mouse cursor problems? Most
annoying. Right click brings up a menu which stays there until I
dismiss it, Then cursor is gone.

	Fixed the mouse problem.
It's not under "mouse". It's under "cursor". Set it to hide
after 10 million milliseconds, longer than any film I have, so it
never goes away.

Yes, that's correct. Open source just has hugs and the promise of a
better world providing you accept the new lexicon which defines freedom
as shackling yourself whilst sporting a strangely vacuous smile like you
have just spoken personally to the Messiah and/or had a frontal lobotomy.

The installed version says 3.0.23 is the latest, make of that what you will.

Thanks for sharing. I have no idea where this vital setting is though.
In the application, in control panel, lurking in a hidden compartment to
the right of the switch that opens the gates of hell? I've put a monkey
on an each way bet on the last option. Don't let me down!

Clicking on tools --> preferences --> show all settings brings
up a search box. Cat has dozens of hits. I get one for poo (pool),
none for pooh, so it's not perferct.

Clearly we exist in 2 quite separate parallel universes. In the light
universe I gave up searching for cursor or mouse and tried "hide" and
that showed just the "Video" page and voila 1/3 of the way down there
was "Hide cursor and fullscreen controller after x milliseconds" set to
1000. Is that the one? I'm not sure I want the fullscreen controller
visible throughout eternity TBH but perhaps in the dark universe things
work differently.

In fact in the light universe I haven't noticed a problem. Apart from
the search under Advanced Preferences which sucks.

Hmm, the search box is very poorly programmed. The results vary
depending on the wind direction. Don't hit the enter key that just
actions 'Save' I think.

No, it's not a paw thing!

In fact, forget the search box, Tools > Preferences > Show settings >
All > Scroll to bottom > Video > "Hide cursor and fullscreen controller
after x milliseconds" > Save button

Thank you Pooh, you are a consummate professional. YW.

Yes. I only use the dark web, so the brightness of your
universe stunned me.
PS M$/Amakon/Cloudfair/Meta made them include "fullscreen
controller" so they could badmouth open-source programs. Far right
fascists tend to do that. That's why it's not under "mouse" settings.
Which IMHO would be the best place for mouse settings.

Careful Pooh, he'll set his lefty lawyers on you next. They've already
tried to criminalize drinking free beer and making a living out of
writing software. First they came for the mice. We know how this ends.
