Hey, *I* am not the one claiming this group is "officially dead".

After restoring the quoted material you removed, I see that in my OP I
was submitting a "guess" rather than a "claim".

It's doing better than most. Some groups that I use which had hundreds of
active posters a couple of years ago are extinct now.

Weird thing is, given they're of some use, a counterpart from
site/local forums never quite seem to have the same overall flavor;-
there's always some implied or lurking autocrat for a core cadre of
appreciably simpering minions to dampen content.

'Overall,' admittedly though, must stretch a long way for even
anarchists' patience, and a few points still freely relaying them,
sans a binary side of streaming, always and possibly still of
considerably larger usage to comprising the USENET. (Last led by NY
State's Governor's campaign for prurient interests to cull from
nationwide ISPs, a pornographic content and totality of the USENET.)

-
Plato questions: How could they see anything but the shadows if they
were never allowed to move their heads?

I stand before him: Obviously, the redounding echo from a caveman's
obliterative speech needs little allegorical finery to be precisely
understood by the most in any officiously assembled democratic
society. ...By Zeus, may we now get on with passing around the cake?

To his credit, he always puts an OT up, so the OT posts can
easily be filtered, unlike this one:

Message-ID: <ekap7cF3s59U1@mid.individual.net>

Discussing acf is on topic in acf, BTW.

Why would anyone want to 'filter' Dustin?

There are few folk as knowledgeable about 'computing' as Mr Cook.

IMO, that is.
