Yer can call her Bugher and we all know who yer mean. If you had any
knowledge of the previous debates here, instead of popping up, yer
wouldn't make such a mistake.

Apparently your "advanced skillset" doesn't include much in the way of
reading comprehension. I'll quote your error again, this time adding
some emphasis to help even someone as blinkered as you are to
understand: "shift+reload DOESN'T DO ANYTHING aside from ask site for
copy as opposed to pulling from a locally cached copy."

> then.. sure, I made a boo boo or an error, if you'd prefer.

Sure, you did, but your "boo boo" wasn't simply neglecting to mention
something; what you posted was in contradiction of reality, not simply
an inadvertent omission.

Again, I considered my correction of your error as tangential, and the
idea in play had already been ruled out by the time I corrected you, so
the whole thing was by then irrelevant to anything else in the thread.
AFAICT, we're only going on and on and on about it now due to your need
to believe that you have never misunderstood anything. IOW, for
entertainment purposes only.

> OTH, If you're trying to spin what I wrote into something it isn't

Calling what you wrote incorrect isn't spinning. What you wrote was
incorrect.

"DOES DO SOMETHING aside from X" stands in direct contradiction
to "DOESN'T DO ANYTHING aside from X". See?

"IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING" isn't just neglecting to mention that it does
do something. See?

> (that I wasn't aware of the header information or something), that's

I merely said it was incorrect. However, since you once again bring
up the allegation that you understood all along, I point out that you
went on to say that you'd already cleared your local cache, indicating
at the very least that you'd forgotten that it does something other
than bypass local cache, if you'd ever known about that in the first
place. In case it helps any, I understand your position that you never
made any mistakes and that you knew everything about everything all
along, I just find it extremely far-fetched given what you posted.

[This space left blank for you to insist that you'd always known it,
for the umpteenth time.]

I haven't read any of your extensive correspondence with pooh. Do you
really not do any better in those exchanges than you're doing in this
one? More importantly (only very slightly more), have you figured out
what the cloud has to do with the issue yet?

> Neither of you are willing to admit when you're wrong about

You owe me another set of irony meters.

> You'll both evidently try to spin your way out of it.

The meters were already broken by your previous sentence, so that one
didn't do any further harm.

> Where do you get the two and a half weeks idea?

We don't have to go through all that again, do we?

> How did this turn from a simple question concerning Mozilla

QUESTION? I thought you'd convinced yourself that due to your alleged
advanced skillset there was never any question in your mind.

But to answer your question about how it turned, it was because your
ego buckled under the strain of reading posts from people you consider
beneath you and you started going on rants to assert your high opinion
of yourself. IOW, it turned for the same reason so many of your
threads have turned over the years. So I changed the Subject for
accuracy and easy filtering and kept posting to see how far you'd go
with it -- I'd forgotten that the answer to that is 'forever'. At
least that's how I see it; you did ask.

> I didn't appreciate the fact one of you assumed I'd neglected to
> provide information and the other assuming I didn't know how to use
> the damn reload features on firefox.

I never assumed that you didn't know how to use shift+reload or
implied that you didn't know how to; I merely corrected an incorrect
statement you made, and I couldn't care less about the fact that you
didn't and still don't appreciate the correction. As with the cache
thing and the alleged skillset thing, I'm amused by your obsession but
not offended by any of it, so you could cut the faux apologies about
offending me; I cut them when replying, anyway.

> I only mentioned some skills when you made a smartass comment
> concerning my expertise in IT. [g]

You said you weren't a newbie or a wannabe, and I said that opinions
vary. Posting your own opinions of your skills won't change that,
especially when your actual skills WRT figuring out what was going on
in the cloud are on display throughout the threads about this.

> If you know anything about the Raid days, you know I wrote what I
> said I'd write and backed up the things I said I'd do. And, I wasn't

Now as then, opinions vary.

> We both know you can't hold a fucking candle to me, and, I don't care

You care enough to post over and over and over and over and over your
opinion that you are superior. In case it helps any, you thoroughly
convinced me of your delusions of grandeur years ago. You're less
nasty than you were before all the nymshifting, but you're still
ROFLing and strutting in much the same way.

Indeed. they are. First post, indicated an actual problem that isn't
fixed yet (may not be). 2nd post into thread, already determined the
problem... Nothing I can do on this end to 'fix' it short of making the

What's bullshit exactly? Be specific.
2nd post (from me!) into the thread:
MID: <XnsA582C8F18D51F7D9A8@dieselpower.eternal-september.org>

Apologies that I wasn't specific enough and allowed for possible
confusion with reference to second post in thread. If you want to
spin it like you did the shift+reload comment I wrote, feel free.
It's desperation, but, that didn't stop you before.

It most certainly IS a problem. You cannot download the Windows OS
binary version you're expecting to download by visiting the url below
if you're using Windows XP or certain versions of Vista and haven't
taken any steps to forge host OS header data or not send it. You
*will* be provided the wrong damn version of the binary. 43.0.1 is
NOT the latest release of ff43.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

There is NO mention on that page that you will be given an older
release and have to update from within the browser if you choose to
download it using Windows XP or certain editions of Vista and have
done nothing to alter/not send the host OS data to them.

Yeah, you sure taught me a lesson there Dusty. I learnt that your maths is
awful, and worse you didn't even understand your code well enough or test
it enough to see that. I noticed there was an anomaly within milliseconds.
What was really funny was you claiming that the few extra lines I posted
which fixed it were wrong because they increased the exe size. This was a
program which was written in compiled Basic. Too funny.

Fact is sonny, I took you on in a ridiculous contest where the odds were so
stacked in your favour I fully expected to lose, and I beat you.

You haven't the balls, talent or luck to do that.

Here's what actually happened as told by a 3rd party who observed it

That's not how I understood it. Dustin posted many times some
assembly language programs to see if certain select posters who
claim to be coders could tell him what they were doing. That bait
went untaken with his various 'hello world' type programs as well as
his CMOS checksum invalidator program. He apparently chose ASIC due
to its incomplete, by today's standards, implementation of HLL
constructs to trick these 'coders' into thinking that they
understood it enough to play along. Once sucked in by this ploy,
Pooh showed his hand.

> Pooh cat was able to do that.

No, in fact Pooh showed his misunderstanding. The rest was 'damage
control' by deflection.

> However Exevalid didn't do what he intended because it failed in
> certain circumstances.

> Pooh cat made some corrections.

He sucked you in as well. Pooh broke the program by removing what he
thought, incorrectly, was unneeded. He also described two integer
variables as representing 'true' and 'false' boolean values - those
integers were stored in two bytes each whereas two boolean values
would only take two bits to store. Global variables? Missing and/or
non-existent subroutines? Why not just tell Dustin what it was doing?
Hell, the name was EXEVALID (big clue there) and Pooh extracted only
the length calculation routine from it and called it a *counter* and
then proceeded to expand and overcomplicate it.

That just doesn't sound like a coder to me.

We've been through this. Your claim that you had it all figured out on
the first. You threw out a lot of speculations, some involving html,
one involving HTTP headers, and more. If *any* of your speculations
had turned out to be close to the mark, as at least one of them was
bound to do, you'd now be pointing at it and claiming you'd known it
all along; that's exactly what you are doing.

We are done now; all that remains is for you to claim one last time
that you had it all figured out all along and repost the stuff you
pretend proves it one more time. If you could throw in some of that
humorous stuff about how smart you think you are, that would help some.

ROFL. That's not exactly what I've been writing.. but, I did have the
issue figured out and resolved (for me). I shared instructions for
others who are having trouble downloading the version they're
expecting when I created the thread.

> You threw out a lot of speculations, some

No, I didn't. I threw out two. :) One, mozilla has a problem with the
host being windows XP. The other, an issue further upstream that has
nothing to do with an outdated cache.

One did. The first one that I suspected. Ironic, wasn't it?

That we are.

I just re-read some posts in this thread when responding to
Pooh.. I did mention the OS and language binary version(s) I was
trying to download in the initial post that created this thread.. in
the last few lines of my post.

(re-presented below)
However...

http://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/43.0.3/

has it...
win32 or win64. Full version or the stub (online download later)
versions..

... end paste

The second url clearly shows the language requested and the
last few lines mention the versions I was looking to grab.

Of course, the url is now providing an outdated installer. You'd
want to change the last number on the above url to a four to obtain
the current one. Or just click this link:

http://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/43.0.4/

Win32 or Win64.. your choice, in the language you want.. the correct
binary when you click the final link to the actual binary.

I was able to obtain the correct binary via the link I shared. I'm
still unable to obtain the correct binary by following this link:

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

and clicking on the english-us windows 32bit (or 64bit) binary
(which is this link):

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-43.0.4-SSL&os=win&lang=en-US

results in offering to download v43.0.1, clearly not v43.0.4.

I suppose I could have done a better job of clarifying what exactly
it was I was trying to download, for those who don't have very good
reading comprehension skills...and/or have a tendency not to
completely read a post before responding to it...

I only posted about this on Jan 1st, I'm glad to see that as of Jan
16th (impressive response time, people.. lolz) that various people,
including yourself, have noticed that a problem might actually be
present here. Good thing I didn't report a fire of some kind. [g]

Incidently, the url I posted previously today is still providing the
wrong binary.. Atleast, for some of us.

Which is very strange, as it seems to be an html coding
error on Mozilla's end, so no 'cache' should have one that gives
some people the binary it's supposed to and others the wrong one. If
that is the case, Mozilla initially had bad html that went live and
they didn't mention correcting it, later. *shrug* And some cache's
some place are weeks out of date now. I find that next to impossible
to believe, myself.

So do I. The fact is you are clueless about how these kind of systems work.
