#423560 — Glass fire update

Fromvallor <vallor@cultnix.org>

SubjectGlass fire update
Message-ID<hti0n5Fk6auU1@mid.individual.net>
First off, firefighters are awesome. Man those guys work hard. Some of
them were in the field for three days.

And they determined that what was called the Shady fire was actually
started by a spot fire from the Glass fire, so it's all Glass fire now.

Anyway, some evacuation warnings were just lifted, and some orders are
now warnings. The orders mean mandatory evacuation, and the warnings
mean be ready to leave. So we're not out of the woods yet, but the
situation is less dire now (knock on wood).

We might come out of this with a lot less damage than the Tubbs fire,
which was the fire that leveled the area known as "Coffey Park" in 2017.
That one turned Coffey Park into a moonscape.

Yes, both Calistoga and Angwin. Also part of Pope Valley.

Beyond hard. Like being in a war zone.

One wonders how much of that state is left to burn!
