This is teh way of teh Linux.

Updating the OS will also update all the software in the distribution --
including pan. Compare and contrast with the old microsoft way of doing
things, where you had to go grab software off myriad web sites.

(Software stores are making that sort of thing obsolete...an idea they got
from Linux's software repositories!)

We use CentOS and Redhat at work. I need to make a new installation
at home with Ubuntu. Thank goodness there is a wonderful alternative
to Windows.

Lol? No, I said I need to make a new installation. Let linux
partition the disk and install. Dual boot will work fine. I don't
exclude Windows from my life. I'm sure there are Linux snobs and
Windows snobs and MacOS snobs. But, I use all those OSs. Get over
it, it's a thing.

Oh, *I* got over it 20 years ago.
I use both Windows and Linux.
Unfortunately the Linux cabal will tar and feather you for admitting you
use Windows for anything although they have mellowed out in recent years
because they have come to the realization that they need every Linux
convert they can get and even a part time Linux convert is better than
none at all.

FWIW, pan is buggy and it's no Forte' Agent but Forte' Agent will run
under Linux pretty well.

You have been trolled, by a mentally-ill POS. I suggest filtering it.

Attacking good things and good people, like FOSS and its advocates,
attracts kooks and assholes, like "flatfish", and "DFS". Truly shitty
people, they call it "hypocrisy" if someone advocates software
freedom, but uses some propritory software.

You couldn't make it up.

FOSS advocates have even been accused of "hypocrisy" if they have a
paying job! The shitty, clueless, lying bastards claim that FOSS
advocacy is all about getting other people to work for free, making
the users and advocates "hypocrites" and "freeloaders". (Gosh, just
maybe, we contribute money to our cause?)

Then these insulting fsckheads claim (lie) that they get flamed merely
because they "disagree" with the advocates.

No one, with any brain function at all, is fooled.

Pretty weak attempt to troll me, Checkmate. But even stupid

to the likes of "flatfish" and "DFS". They are monsters.
