Did you know that I blame my manic depression on the effects of 
marijuana?  It was skewing my reality and I was using it for creative 
writing.  The second time I went to the hospital (in about two weeks 
time) I met a vampire, and I'm fairly certain he bit me.  I asked the 
doc about it and he said that drugs were a common inducer of mental 
illness.  I asked him if it could be proven that's where it came from 
and he said that would be difficult.  I wanted to prove it because it's 
easier than accepting that I have a genetic fault.  After that, I was 
often manic because of how powerful vampires are or how powerful I 
thought they could be.  The medicine solves the problem but they 
over-medicate me and that's not something I can change (serenity).  I 
was on the best dose back in 2002, but I screwed things up and it was 
decided to tighten the bolts in my neck.

When that happened, I was under a great deal of stress.  I was double 
majoring at the top private tech school in the nation.  If I had more 
time to myself to parse the universe, I may not have fallen victim to 
flights of fancy that got me picked up by the dogcatcher.

The medicine is only half the answer.  The other half is making the doc 
believe that I think medicine is the answer.  That's when I'll get my 
pass out of the building.
