The vast size of the universe and the extreme distances between stars make physical travel to Earth extremely difficult, but not strictly impossible. Under our current understanding of physics, traveling at or faster than the speed of light is not allowed, meaning standard voyages would take thousands or millions of years. However, a civilization much older and more advanced than ours might use slow-travel colony ships, autonomous probes, or physics we do not yet understand. Physical and Cosmic Barriers Huge distances: Space is very empty and big. The closest star system, Alpha Centauri, is about 4 light-years away. Our fastest ships would take tens of thousands of years to get there. Speed limit: Einstein's rules say nothing with mass can go faster than light. Moving large ships close to light speed takes more energy than is practical. No proof of fast travel: Ideas like warp drives or wormholes are fun in science fiction, but we have no proof they can work in real life. Why Visiting Might Still Happen Time to grow: The universe is billions of years old. An alien group only a million years ahead of us could have time to send slow ships or smart robots across the galaxy. Robots instead of bodies: It is much easier to send small, smart metal probes than live creatures. -- Linux Mint 22.3

Dinosaur farts have made it to Alpha Cent by now. Leave early. 14 bn years ago when the universe and Milky Way were new and everything was smaller would be a good time. -- The nearest star system sits 4.2 light-years away-a distance today's spacecraft would need tens of thousands of years to cross, yet a proposed laser-driven sail carrying a gram-scale probe could make the journey in just over 20. Who cares? Seriously. It's not real -- they literally tell you that it's "Artificial" -- and it's shockingly inaccurate. > The vast size of the universe and the extreme distances between stars > make physical travel to Earth extremely difficult, but not strictly > impossible. It's not science and it's not even logic! It's wild speculation. If a species wanted to colonize space then it would be far easier and far safer TO COLONIZE SPACE! No, NOT planets! You don't colonize planets, you colonize SPACE! You're already talking GENERATIONAL travel here. The ship is already their world FOR GENERATIONS. They've adapted, culturally, to the ship as their world. So why leave that? Life is a threat. Bacteria, viruses, parasites... poisons... Why expose yourself to any of that? If you honestly need to leave the ship then you're all going to die before you reach another world. Remember: It's a GENERATIONAL ship! LIFELESS worlds, asteroids & the like would be a goldmine though! You could harvest the raw materials to build another ship! And, you can do this WITHOUT risking exposure to alien biology which you have no defenses against... Morons think Star Trek is a documentary and think anyone can just fly off, find a "Class M Planet" and build a cabin. In reality there are many places on this world that you can't even travel to without immunizations and/or medications to protect you from diseases which you have ZERO immunity from. THIS WORLD! There are places on THIS WORLD where the biology threatens your life! And you think it's possible for you to travel to other worlds hosting life completely ALIEN to anything your immune system has ever encountered? LOL! No wonder you believe & trust A.I.... -- https://jtem.tumblr.com/
