God's spiritual evidence is evident in everyone. Find it and treasure it because it's the covenant of God. It's the reason why we are given this life on earth. It's the foundation why we can have meaning in life. Let's all honor our personal spiritual evidence of God for the sake of Christ!

That's a risk/benefit analysis based on facts. Buying insurance is something you do, not something you make yourself believe. Factual beliefs are something you chose, they are something created in your mind from an accumulation of evidence, whether you _want_ to believe them or not. I don't want to believe I'm going to die, but an accumulation of facts and experiences force that belief on me.

Not to mention this conundrum: According to believers in $(RELIGION), you go to heaven if you believe in (and maybe obey some rules allegedly set by) $(GOD_1). But what if in reality there is $(GOD_2) instead, and $(GOD_2) only grants life everlasting to those who *disavow* (and maybe disobey) $(GOD_1)? For every god you can think up with some rules for getting a good afterlife, it's just as conceivable that there's one with diametrically opposite rules. Or even one with the simple rule that one only gets life everlasting by being skeptical of every claim not supported by evidence -- blind faith, no matter what the topic, is what will damn you ... -- FNVWe Nadegda "By all means, compare these shitheads to Nazis. Exactly. I've often asked professed believers of Religion A, what would happen to them if they had been born, raised, and brainwashed in a part of the world where people predominately believe in Religion B? None of The Gods like competition. You must believe only in them. Obviously, if Religion B is the One True Religion, those born in a Religion A region are doomed, unless they reject what they've been taught, seek out the various competing religions, somehow manage to select the "correct" one, and reject the one they were told was correct. What mere mortal would be capable of even doing that? Where humans with a propensity for believing in religion fall short, is they attempt to define the undefinable, and attach all sorts of rules and conditions to the god of their choice... except the source of all of these rules is always other mere mortals. -- Checkmate ® Copyright © 2019 all rights reserved https://youtu.be/wT-8Dm1VThc *************************************************** "I am the author of nearly as much kook butthurt as kensi." -Nadegda Message-ID: <pbg8ne$p9k$21@dont-email.me> *************************************************** AUK Hammer of Thor award, Feb. 2012 (Pre-Burnore) Destroyer of the AUK Ko0k Awards (Post-Burnore) Co-winner Pierre Salinger Hook, Line & Sinker award May 2001, (Brethern of Beelzebub troll) Pierre Salinger Hook, Line & Sinker award, Feb 2012 Author, Humorist, Cynic Philosopher, Humanitarian Poet, Elektrishun to the Stars Usenet Shot-Caller In loving memory of The Battle Kitten May 2010-February 12, 2017 BEST SONG(s) EVER MADE: https://youtu.be/BUhGh04Sgsk

It's very easy to debunk your claim that the biblical text was selected by Emperor Constantine: For a starter, why would a Roman emperor select some texts as canonical to make Jesus the Son of God over Augustus Caesar? I am assuming you know that the Roman Senate had already deified Augustus Caesar and his cult was the state religion. There are 4 regional councils - some dating back to 128 AD - prior to the One Emperor Constantine presided over name them and contrast their conclusion with the ecumenical one at Nicaea If you know what you're talking about. It's not wise to parrot others on the topic you have no real understanding...

The difference is that once the Emperor was lending his support to the canon that was agreed upon, and made Christianity the state religion, then dissenters would be subject to punishment by the state. Clowns like Cody might welcome Caeseropapism,* and still believe it is somehow relevant to the operation of the American Republic, but for the rest of us it is something best left in the past. Josh is said to have told his followers to "render unto Caesar..." He never said "Be Caesar." however. * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesaropapism -- Kevin R a.a #2310

That's the role of Law; NO serious state would allow private Law BECAUSE FAITH might be a private matter but religion which comes with commandments such as "you shall not murder" is not and should not be left to the whims of private associations posing as church. I am just pointing out that your concept of Church is wrong because the Vatican is a Sovereign state, therefore a blend of the Roman Curia, which was a political organ, and the Church. A theocracy run by the Priesthood of Romulus, the founder of Rome. YOU CANNOT TRICK PEOPLE AND EXPECT EVERYBODY TO FOLLOW SUIT. We Africans are out of your useless debate about Church-State. God is Sovereign and If He has no Sovereignty in your Law that is fine but you should let other countries decide their own course of action... and NOT TRY to sell them your rebellion or misunderstanding of the issue. > > -- > Kevin R > a.a #2310

You're trying to lecture us about how Canon Law works and you don't care about the being it is tied to?
Were you under the impression that the Canon was selected arbitrary?
If you don't care about JESUS you may as well forget that entire reference to Canon Law.

I really don't. It doesn't matter if it is a Jewish "beth din" ruling,
an Islamic "sharia" one, those ef the Bahai (Bahá'í) or any other
alternate system voluntarily subscribed to by the participants.

I don't care about Josh. Others do. If that means disputes among
the Amish are settled privately, without recourse to lawsuits, well,
good for the Amish. That doesn't mean I support their theology, and
I would support a maverick among the "plain folk" who couldn't get his
rights respected because the religious elders failed to recognize
that they were being violated. But for those who share the mores of the
group, settling disputes privately undoubtedly saves them time, trouble and
treasure.
"Shares the mores..." is the big IF.
Where religious law is the law of the state, those who don't believe,
or don't believe in the official version are at a disadvantage.

He is not a fictional person as you would like to think; even Richard Dawkins has a change of heart and has confessed that Jesus was a real person And the FAITH grounded on Him is so rational and transparent but alas! you never heard about the first centuries atheists such as Celsius, Galen, porphyrius, and many more... They were all defeated yet never questioned Jesus existence.
Don't blame us for your being history illiterate.
Oh, and the Jewish Council of Javneh; Jews are not lost species. They do know that Jesus was a historical figure that's why they rejected Him as their Messiah/Christ. One rejects some who has really existed...

How many sentences did Paul quote from Christ? The Gospel is not about quotes; it is about what's the content of what was said in the Upper Room(The Black Box)

So you relay on the comments of those who read the Life of The Jewish Messiah out of context in trying to debunk Jesus? Let's put the text back in context. Some of the party of the Pharisees asked the Lord whether it was appropriate for Jews to pay the tax to Caesar. You should also remember that the Jews had also their tax codes which was prescribed by Moses which should be paid to the Priest. Yes, you heard it correct the tithe is a tax. But the interesting part in the story is that the question was a yes or not question. Instead of answering "yes" or "no" the Good Lord requested a coin. Why a coin? Because the effigy of Caesar was minted on the coin with the caption: "Augustus Caesar son of the living god." It would not take that much that Christ repudiated the Imperial cult in favor of Monotheism as He later asserted: HEAR O ISRAEL, ETERNAL OUR LORD ETERNAL IS ONE. If you think this about politics and religion then your reading level is really poor. > > * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesaropapism > > -- > Kevin R > a.a #2310
