God knowing what his FINAL decision will be does not preclude me trying to help
him arrive at the final conclusion. Right now, he's doomed.

God already knows what your final decision is. But you don't. You still have
to make it, and God already knows if you will or won't make the right one.

Your salvation is based on your decisions in life - good and bad.

Personally I don't know what predestination or calvinism is.

So, you admit your ignorance on a key issue of Christian theology,
one that contributed mildly to the Protestant Reformation.

Why anyone would consider your opinion when commenting on religion
when you know so little about it?

I believe you Catholics call that a "mystery."

Spill chuck error. Replace "mildly" with "mightily."

OK, so the teaching effort of your church at the elementary school,
high school, and collegiate levels, wherein church members are taught
about the reasons why other Christians went into schism with Rome,
or started Protestant churches, which anyone who went to Catholic
elementary schools and colleges, as I did, is just, what?........
extraneous fluff, not needed by the peasantry who are just supposed
to genuflect, obey and beat their breasts?

And you wonder why some of us quit!

Besides your lack of individualistic thought, you seem to be completely
without a sense of humor.

Go stand on your soapbox on some other street corner.
No one wants you here, and you are a boor and a bigot
for emitting the effluvia* emanating from your keyboard.

Matthew 6
"1 'Be careful not to parade your uprightness in public to attract attention; otherwise you will lose all reward from your Father in heaven.

{...AND...}

5 'And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrites: they love to say their prayers standing up in the synagogues and at the street corners for people to see them. In truth I tell you, they have had their reward.

6 But when you pray, go to your private room, shut yourself in, and so pray to your Father who is in that secret place, and your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you.
So, take ol' Josh's advice and take it off the net.

Then there's that whole "shake the dust off your feet" thing.
Just shake those flip flops and move along, Earl ol' boy.

Or, y'know, your beloved Catholics (and, admittedly, 'my' 'damned
heretical Anglicans' as well) until well into the XX century (see: "The
