May be there is an unknown atheist god...since most atheists remain in firm disbelieve in your sky pixie?

Or, couldn't our god be the "natural" nature of the universe?

Where do the Upanishads mention your god? I didn't read a word about him in
the works of Homer. There's no mention of him in the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita,
or the Buddhist Sutras. And you claim there is only one god! Well OK, prove
that the gods mentioned in the above books, or shut the fuck up about your
childish notion of your god.

If your observations are based purely on evidence that after
kicking down an atheist's front door and hurling
condescending accusations at them, that they respond
defensibly to your theistic fascism, well, you're only
observing a small portion of an atheist's life -- and an
anger which *YOU* in fact provoked. Much more data is
required before any sane conclusions can be made, much less
"scientific conclusions".

Atheists span a broad range of diverse backgrounds and
dispositions. Yes we have militant members, but the vast
majority of us are moral, stable, sane, and productive
members of society. But many times the "militant behavior"
is merely a justified reaction to verbal and/or physical
assaults on our rights as human beings to dis-believe in X,
Y, or Z religion(s). We don't want to *PARTICIPATE*, we want
to simply be left alone!

 A REAL LIFE EXAMPLE:

I can remember in my teenage years being invited to a
church service by friends. I had recently been discussing
with them the hypocrisies of religion (politely of course)
and the minister had already known i was a disbeliever,
because my "friends" had already consulted with the
minister about how to "save my soul". Of course, i was not
aware of the evil conspiracy until i attended the service.

During the service (about half way through), the minister
approached me and he asked me to commit my heart to Jesus.
He wanted me to come forward and repent for my sins in
front of the entire church members. He wanted me to become
overwhelmed with guilt. He wanted me to become a subject.

However when i politely declined (for the third time!), he
became very angry. His face turned red and his eyes filled
with hate. He then returned to his pulpit and began
screaming and ranting about how the devil was in the mist
of his flock. And how the devil was attempting to lead his
flock away from god. And at one climatic point, he even
threw a bible into a wall about 20ft away!

It was quite a show folks! Most atheist would have walk
out. Heck most atheists would never have attended! But i've
always been one who gets a thrill from "tempting fate".
Besides, at that point, i felt i had a duty to stay and
show a gutsy resolve against such fascism. After the
service was over i walked out and never attended another
 church service since.

I'm firmly convinced that if i had refused the offer in
another political time, or in certain parts of our "modern
world", i would have been lynched by the church members and
roasted on a BBQ. When i think of all the murders these
devils have committed in the name of god i should be
militant, but i'm not. Perhaps i'm better at channeling my
"inner Socrates" than others? (may his memory and bravery
never be forgotten!)

But i never became angry towards the minister or his
"flock". No, i actually pity them. And to my surprise, my
friends ended up leaving that church a few months later.
They told me the atmosphere had become "cult-ish". (ya
think?) They eventually joined another church, but they
never invited me to any services again! O:-)

I always wanted to asked those church member's a rhetorical
question. And since i never got the chance back then, i
guess i'll ask now.

Q: If your god is *SO* powerful, then how could a simple
little polite atheist heathen, like myself, be such a threat?

It's an open letter to all my "theist friends". Cheers!

Great encounter and gutsy response.
But, if I were you, I would have challenged the minister for his direct show of a deity. "It is not your job ! Let it be shown to me personally ....." would be my response.

Many churches spring up because the ministers are jobless and in need of income.
The US televangelists are on the top of the shameless list.

I'm an atheist, gods rarely come to my mind, I'm not at war and my life is
quite peaceful.

Your problem is that you see your dreams, aspirations, and hopes as facts.

From observation... Theists are people who can't spell or

You apparently have not heard of the bloodshed of millions

Anne Drool's usual deliberate nastiness - he knows perfectly well that
atheism is a non-event because all it is, is a description saying that
we _don't_ do something - not that we do.

We've been through this regularly with the in-your-face, proven,
serial Liar For God.

Atheism neither motivates nor justifies anything at all, because it is
no different from nor watching baseball, not collecting stamps, not
speaking Swahili, or anything else we don't do.

No matter how many psychopathic, deliberately nasty Christians lie
about us, to our faces.

Dictators do what dictators do - however if they are atheists, they
are absent the biggest motivation and justification theists have.

Thank for admitting that some are not and therefore being
atheist is irrrelevant to whether people are Psychopaths who
