The word "fairies" is just a simple term used in the old days to mean...God.

There are people who believe in the occult, a god or alignment of the
planets, or invisible spirits, etc., are just hidden from perception
but influence us nonetheless.

These people read their horoscopes, believe that chance favors them,
and that something or someone in the whole cosmos is vitally
interested in everything they do.

Get a grip!  Learn humility.  No one is significant and there is no
spirit who has a burning interest in your life.

even supported with evidence.  Many scientists "feel" there might be
one explanation that ties gravity, electricity, the behavior of
electromagnetic fields, magnetism, atomic fields, etc. together into a
nice neat package, but it has never been proven.

It was one of Einstein's pet ideas.

Which is why they're looking for it, and why nobody insists on
something which isn't yet known.

Unlike religionists who pluck imaginary magical superbeings from their
arses and insist to people living in the real world, that these are
real and that they did things for which there are perfectly natural
explanations.

I would say way before Science was invented..before Science knew what Light was...(i'm not sure if they even know now...they seem to be uncertain about..EVERYTHING)
