Amazon is jut one book store... the book was Recommended by Benjamin Franklin...i think before amazon bookstore.. but I understand Joe, ... you hear that the indians were all jewish, and they were all killed...and you refuse to believe it, ...it could mean you're a holocaust denier.

The fact is...all the Presidents of the United States, from George Washingto to the last ones at that period of 50 years ordered the indians to be killed simply because they believed that all the indians were Jewish. Even the first unoffical 1st President of the United States *before* George Washington ( i forgot his name) wrote a book about the same thing. 50 years of killing indians...they told the cowboys, "Kill them all, they are all savages!"

Anyone sitting down to comment on James Adair's "The History of the American Indians," now in a new edition, works in the shadow of giants. Thomas Jefferson wrote an early review of the work in June 1812, when, in the course of a letter to John Adams, he noted that Adair "had his kink. He believed all the Indians of America to be descended from the Jews....His book contains a great deal of real instruction on its subject, only requiring the reader to be constantly on his guard against the wonderful obliquities of his theory." True enough. Originally published in London in 1775, and often out of print, Adair's "History" is a crucial primary account of America's southeastern Indian tribes -- the Cherokee, Catawba, Creek, Choctaw and Chickasaw -- during the 18th century. The author lived among them as a deerskin trader for 40 years, married a Chickasaw woman and, in his own words, "sat and smoked with the head-men on bear-skins." He was also an adviser to the colonial governors of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida and led war parties of friendly Indians during various campaigns. Adair's background remains a mystery, and it is unknown what happened to him after he published his book at the age of (approximately) 65, but Kathryn E. Holland Braund, the editor of this fine edition and a history professor at Auburn University, has mined the archives to enlighten readers on Adair's years as a major player on the Anglo-Indian frontier -- roughly 1738 to 1768. The first part of Adair's "History" consists of 23 arguments intending to prove that the Indians are "copper colour American Hebrews" descended from the lost tribes of Israel. The second half recounts his personal experiences living among them. It is the second that commands our attention today, offering an invaluable chronicle of the Indians' day-to-day culture as well as detailing the strategic maneuverings of England, France and Spain to gain the Indians as allies. Adair's prose falls somewhere between Edward Gibbon's and James Fenimore Cooper's: by turns magisterial, windy and vividly concrete. His account of a woodland battle between two tribes includes this passage: "Now hot work begins -- The guns are firing; the chewed bullets flying; the strong hiccory bows a twanging; the dangerous barbed arrows whizzing as they fly; the sure-shafted javelin striking death wherever it reaches and the well-aimed tomohawk killing or disabling its enemy. Nothing scarcely can be heard for the shrill echoing noise of the war and death-whoop, every one furiously pursues his adversary from tree to tree, striving to incircle him for his prey; and the greedy jaws of pale death are open on all sides, to swallow them up. One dying foe is intangled in the hateful and faltering arms of another: and each party desperately attempts both to save their dead and wounded from being scalped, and to gain the scalps of their opponents." Adair claimed, of his work, that "the reader will find as great a variety of entertainment, as can well be expected in describing a rude and uncivilized people."
