You didn't ask her.

You don't know what this subthread is about, do you?

Do you know the difference between "having something to say," and
"having to say something?"

You admit here you claimed the existence of evidence for the starting
location when searching for keys.

Somehow he seems to be equating finding one's keys, which actually
exist, to finding his god????? Which, of course, has never been shown to
exist.

Or is he even crazier than that?

and this business of 'the search for life on other planets', wats that all about ? Based on faith, not
evidence. There is no evidence that life exist on other planets! So why search for it??? There is no evidence
that life exist on other planets, but the search continues? Based on what??

If you are going to go by their evidence...then, their evidence say, 'life *could not* possibly exist on other planets'.

It's IMPOSSIBLE. Based on their own evidence! But the seach for life on other planets...continue.

Those 'science guys' certaintly have a lot of FAITH.

The need for evidence.

They know life is impossible on many planets but that it may be
possible on some others.

Based on earth capable to harbor life....
Billions of planets out there but we would never expect all of them capable, except for some with earth-like conditions.

No true...life form from other planets can be a bit different from earth.

If life can exist on earth, why can't similar planet give rise to alien life form as well?

While you can have children in your home, you expect homes of others not capable to raise their own?

No wonder you need faith for your stupid religion......

Since you have no clue what you are talking about, is it safe to assume you are a woman?

There is life on this planet.
There are trillions of other planets in the universe.
Since life happened here, it seems reasonable that it might happen again on one of the trillions of other planets.

It's not a search based on faith, it's a search based on the hypothesis I outlined above. The search is to see if evidence can be obtained.

Since clearly life is possible from abiogenesis as happened here, it's possible the same thing could happen somewhere else.

Refers back to another post disparaging women. It was late, I was tired and can't remember which post it was in, but I'll see if I can find it.

You should know enough about me by now to know that claiming women are inferior to men is not something I would do, even if were true.

There are plenty of quibbles I have with the current crop of feminists like Anita Sarkeesian, but this is not the place for that.

Yeah, I was very surprised by it. Was just questioning since it
obviously didn't sound like you.

Feminism is women having equal rights with men. Everything else is just
window dressing.

Men rarely (if ever) manage to dream
up a God superior to themselves. Most
Gods have the manners and morals of a
spoiled child.

Comical forum atheist ignorance. Anthropic Principle. Life here is no evidence whatsoever that there's life elsewhere and the number of planets has absolutely nothing to do with it.

It's not a fair game where you pick black and white balls out of a bag with millions of balls. In this case, if you pick a black ball, you are killed before you can look at it. Regardless of the number of inhabited planets, including if it's just one, we will be on on it.

I don't recall anybody saying it was evidence of other life. only that it was evidence of the possibility of other life somewhere. Yes the number of planets in the universe does have something to do with it. While the odds might still be very long, it does indicate a POSSIBILITY. There is still the possibility that we are alone in the universe, it just seems unlikely that there wouldn't be.

> It's not a fair game where you pick black and white balls out of a bag with millions of balls.

Nobody cares about what you do with your balls or what color they are.

In this case, if you pick a black ball, you are killed before you can look at it. Regardless of the number of inhabited planets, including if it's just one, we will be on on it.

Can you go back to whichever planet you came from?

Moron, the alien issue is dependent upon the existence of billions of planets where some may or may not harbor biological living things or beings.
Their possible existence is due to the fact that planet earth provided conditions for human being.

The faith is based on realistic assumptions, because of earth.

Is it crazy if earth has human while Moon, Mars etc do not?

No, but you are. You think that every time somebody says something about the future they are relying on faith. When talk of alien life comes up, they are speaking only from a certain amount of confidence in the odds. Since the universe is so big and filled with so many solar systems and galaxies, it seems probable that somewhere out there there are sentient beings. It has nothing to with faith.

Faith is a belief in something for which there is no evidence. Life on other planets is not like that. We have us as evidence that it might be possible again somewhere among the hundreds of trillions of planets. It's not an unreal hypothesis and it it's not faith.
