If it rained, they thought someone was peeing on them. Today...you have Global Warming gods. and global warming god deniers. It is just people's interpretation of Nature. Physics comes from the Greek word..nature. So, what you have today is interpertation of Nature no different than rain gods. I have asked several theists to explain how they know there is such a thing (whatever one of them are supposed to be) in a way we can check and verify for ourselves but they never attempt a sensible answer and obviously will not want to admit they just simply accepted there was one just on the say-so of another perhaps when still still childer trusting of their parents.
