And, to boot, new discoveries and postulations force the uncountably infinite numbers of spirits that form the mythic background FOR the universe to retcon so that This Was Always so, so the origin's changing every so often as well. By the end of the War in Heaven, its beginning may well have become totally unrecognizable. But meanwhile the scientists at CERN's Large Hadron Collider are attempting to provide us real answers: http://www.hngn.com/articles/126177/20150903/big-bangs-littlest-liquid-recreated-thanks-large-hadron-collider.htm Scientists associated with CERN's Large Hadron Collider have created quark-gluon plasma, a matter thought to exist at the birth of the universe, using a shockingly small amount of particles. The plasma was first discovered using colliding protons with lead nuclei existing in high energy within the supercollider's Compact Muon Solenoid detector, and the researchers have dubbed it "the littlest liquid," the University of Kansas reported. "Before the CMS experimental results, it had been thought the medium created in a proton on lead collisions would be too small to create a quark-gluon plasma," said Quan Wang, a KU postdoctoral researcher working with the team at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. "Indeed, these collisions were being studied as a reference for collisions of two lead nuclei to explore the non-quark-gluon-plasma aspects of the collisions. The analysis presented in this paper indicates, contrary to expectations, a quark-gluon plasma can be created in very asymmetric proton on lead collisions."

With all the religious trolls we have invading the newsgroup, it takes time for us old folks to learn to trust newbies to the group. And some of our young new atheists are still in anger mode. They'll get over it. You sound like a good person to me, for what it's worth. The more atheists, the better.

He's only one person. I like most, not all, of what Dawkins says. Atheists don't follow anyone blindly. That's a Christian thing.

Well, not *all* Christians believe in a triune God, but not a single human being in the entire history of mankind had proven a "God" created the universe. They try to maintain that since modern science hasn't nailed down every question regarding the origin of the universe--at the present time--it somehow "proves" that a God created the universe, without satisfactorily answering who or what created their God and from where He derived His supernatural powers to actually "create" the universe. Pretty pathetic, isn't it? There's no more real "proof" that a "God" created the universe than a Leprechaun did.

Followers of the Abrahamist religions -Jews, Christians and Muslims. Followers of other religions believe that their god or main god IS the universe and everything is part of this.

In better educated countries like those of Western Europe, they've usually got more sense because (a) the few fundamentalists aren't as in-your-face as the USA, (b) they understand that theirs is a minority belief that most people don't share. and (c) they understand why. But American fundamentalists are aggressively in-your-face about it and can't cope with being corrected by those living in the real world. It's so bad that they compound this with things like Ron Dean's stupidity about "bias against the supernatural".

What's really ridiculous is that They expect Christians who believe in God to explain it all. To explain How God did it. This information is too dangerous for humans to aquire. You'll start building women in your basements..
