I watched most, not all, of the episodes. So, I missed a lot of important details. I did discuss it recently with a couple friends who were big fans of the show. It's clear that you had to watch the show faithfully, like Babylon 5, to pick up all the pieces and for all of it to make sense. Except that my friends said that even that didn't help completely in the case of "X Files". I asked for an explanation of the aliens in the government and the both said there wasn't one. They also said that earlier stuff was conveniently forgotten and dropped story lines ignored. I still want to see the new series to see if any of this is corrected. I liked the main characters, and I want to see what happened to them. And, I want explanations.

But the idea behind B-5 was ridiculous to me - a vulnerable space station in an almost perpetual war. I didn't like DS9 for that reason. either.

He had taken his original script to the ST folks and they rejected it. Then, they stole the idea. It's a wonder that Roddenberry didn't haunt them.

I didn't particularly like Battlestar Galactica for much the same reason - the entire human race in a convoy of spaceships (apart from the mythical planet Earth). It would have been wiped out pretty quickly.

The whole alien thing ended up being completely insane. And the last season or two completely jumped the shark. But there are so many episodes and arcs that were fabulous. My 2 favorite episodes are both kinda out of the box even for X-Files: 1. Kill Switch (written by Mr. Cyberpunk himself, William Gibson and starring one of my favorite tv actresses--Canadian Kristin Lehman) 2.
