Well, I guess you are a bit above those other creatures that don't
believe in any god. The monkeys at the zoo will throw their feces at
each other and at any person who agitates them a bit. You are above
this level of response, I'm quite sure.

We've been explaining this to the pig-ignorant, deliberately dishonest
moron for years.

You won't get anything intelligent or honest from this head case.

See what I mean?

>too bad you arent gordo

Christianity has its own version of George Orwell's newspeak and
doublethink.

It creates cognitive dissonance in its followers, to prevent their
even thinking about contradictions - they believe both sides, so that
when they are thinking about one, the other simply isn't there. A few
seconds later when they think about the second side, the first one has
vanished.

This is aided by the redefinition of many everyday words, and the
elimination of meanings they don't like, of others.

It's a very powerful way to make people block out what Christianity
doesn't want them to hear or think.

They use their own redefinitions for the words you use when you try
and explain things.

But there is a secondary filter in the event of you getting past that
one - the cognitive dissonance makes what you say, vanish.

There's even a third one - the NT says the devil will use their own
scripture against them.

There are a billion reasons WHY!

How can you list them all?

How about, "In God we trust, all others pay cash."

If God borrows a dollar from you, you can trust him to pay you back. God
is someone you can ...trust.

He is not going to rip you off...

First of all, she asked the *wrong* question..."WHY should I believe in
your god?"

What is this "Your" business???

The only God one can believe in is ones own God. Not, Donanld Ducks
God..not the Jewish people God..your own God.

Problem is....people don't know what God looks like...

He is sort of like a .....mind. A big thought..

Now, no one has ever seen a ...mind. Or a thought....

You cannot look at a person and see their mind...or even prove that they
have one.

So how can you see God?

Ha ha! A very tired very old joke.

Why would I lend money to something not in evidence?
Do you think I'm a fool like you?

> He is not going to rip you off...

Non-existent beings can't rip people off.
But stupid people do give money to them.
WTF does a god have a need for money?
Can't it just 'miracle' some more gold into existence?

God creating more gold wouldn't be much of a miracle for...Him.

Couldn't you think of something a little more spectacular? That would be
a miracle.

<piggybacking>

I didn't ask you to list all the reasons. All I'm interested in the 3 or
4 that you think would be most effective in convincing me that you god
exists. (Always remembering that assertions and beliefs DO NOT CONVINCE
me.)

I look forward to your list with great anticipation.

You continue to repeat "convince me that your god exist".

First, it is not "my God", it's your God.

You don't say "OH YOUR GOD!", you say OMG "Oh, my God!!!"

People don't say OYG, they say OMG.

The operative word is "my".

Oh, my God!

my
my
my

not

your
your
your

So, you want to be convinced that Your God exist.

Do you say, "Oh your God!", or do you say "Oh, my God!!!"

Of course the answer is you say "Oh, my God!!!"

Now, why do you say "Oh, my God!!!" instead of "Oh your God!"?

So, we're talking about your God, aren't we?

The God you once believed in
but for some reason you have
hid Him away...deep inside of you
lies Your God...He lives in your heart.

I know you try to push Him away
but He keeps coming back.

If you look in the mirror..
you will see God.

And the reflection of God that you see
in the mirror is not backwards.

God is not backwards.

Point to the north and
God points to the north.

Point to the south and
God points to the south.

Point to the east and
God points to the east.

Point to the west and
God points to the west.

is that 3 or 4?

Atheism is based on beliefs and assertions, not science.

Do you want to know why God made you? For Entertainment Purposes Only.

Nope. I have no god(s).

I say neither.

Just like you keep pushing leprechauns away, but they keep coming back.

What beliefs would they be?

No god made me, my parents did.

So did my parents and so do I. ;-)

Gods are all tailored to order. They are made
to exactly fit the prejudices of the believer.

Because there is no other rational explanation as to how the
multiverse/universe and all life forms came into existence. Random
chance falls WAY short.

Even more pathetic than usual.

Why do you pretend you haven't been given a layman's outline - and
even if your brainwashing prevents your accepting it, the explanation
is still there.

You are being your usual dishonest, mind-numbingly stupid,
pig-ignorant, in-your-face asshole self, expecting your argument from
personal ignorance and personal incredulity to be taken seriously.

One of these days, you might stop embarrassing yourself, but we won't
hold our breath waiting.

>Random chance falls WAY short.

Nobody ever said it was random chance, imbecile.

You morons should at least _try_ to understand what you bullshit
about to the more knowledgeable who live in the real world.

Surprisingly Gordon, I agree with most of that.

There is NO rational explanation as to how the universe came to be.
It is beyond our present understanding of physics, and may ALWAYS be.

But this is where we part company. I am happy to continue searching for
answers and you are happy claiming that a lack of knowledge is some sort
of evidence for god.

It is a willful lie some people tell themselves because that's what they
are supposed to believe. I was raised catholic. Hard core catholic.
On the wall near our front door were three pictures. Jesus, Pope John
the 23rd and JFK. (I just didn't know what order they were in).

I attended a Jesuit/catholic school where they made the mistake of
teaching me to think. In 2nd grade I got rapped off the head for asking
where Noah put all the dinosaurs.

It was downhill from there on.

In 6th grade we has a batshit crazy nun who told us about missionary
work she did in S. America. She claimed she saw some possessed kid
breathing fire. Another non-starter was her story of a kid who 'had no
gravity to him'. She said he would just float away until they wisely put
ball bearings in his shoe heels.

...She was my favorite nun.

Same, here, but I have reached the firm conclusion that there is some
form of cosmic intelligence involved and I call that cosmic
intelligence, God.

As a way of conceptualizing this, I think of all the sub-atomic
particles in the multiverse being linked together by something like
quantum entanglements. These entanglements function as do the synapses
in our brain. This is the mind of God.

Please keep in mind that this is just a prognosis or guess on my part
but it does seem possible and if it is true this would explain all
that we are still questioning about.

The story of Noah and his arc is an allegory that provides means for
conveying some useful embedded information. Most importantly, it was
and still is such as can be told and re-told among people of all
levels of education and basic understanding and the embedded
information is not lost.

Yeah, I've encountered people like this but I don't blame them. I
realize that not all people, religious or non-religious, are of firm
mind. I can understand how some such as you mention may have this kind
of mental image...sort of like a dream at night but it doesn't stop
when the person wakes up.
