when is the 'scientific community' *ever* going to learn that

water

only comes in one form...liquid.

To call water "liquid water" is stupid.

If you going to announce fake news about finding water on Mars, simply
say you found water on Mars, not stupid "liquid water".

water

only comes in one form...liquid.

If i ask for a glass of water, and you give me a cup with ice only i'm going to ask...

"WHERE THE FUCK IS THE WATER?!?!"

I ASKED FOR WATER, NOT A CUP OF ICE!

water

only comes in one form...liquid.

when is the 'scientific community' *ever* going to learn that

stupid, stupid, stupid.

In the advertising world it's called KISS Keep It Simple Stupid.

If you're trying to SELL life on Mars, yous need to learn how to...communicate.

So long as others know what you mean it does not matter how you say it. That is a fact of communications that even language professors do not know.

How many people on earth know what "liquid water" is?

Ask your wife for a glass of...liquid water, ...then duck.

Many know it.

Many people as well know what is solid water and gaseous water.

As they do know the term water means in the given context the
 compound, not its liquid phase.

For non scientists, this may be confusing.

Sure, you can.
Solid water is also called just ice.
Ice is still water.

Ice as the solid phase of
water as the substance.

It is not a big surprise
some phases of some compounds have dedicated historical names.

The liquid phase of water is called in common language just water.

You forget water has 2 meanings.

In the narrower meaning (I) it is liquid.
In the wider meaning (II) it is a particular substance with solid,
 liquid and gaseous phases
that have historical dedicated names.

To call water(I) "liquid water(II)" is NOT stupid.

For chemistry and physics,
ice, water(I) and (water(II)) vapour are just different forms of a
 compound called water(II).

There is no chemical compound known to exist only in the liquid phase.

But there is a compound which liquid phase is historically called
the same as the compound itself: water.

Liquid water is as well correct as solid iron. These phases are
not the only ones, just the most common.

There are solid and gaseous water, liquid and gaseous iron as well.

It is simply impossible for there to be oxygen on Mars..
and since oxygen is a component of H2O then it's impossible for there to be any water there.

Now, go to the kitchen, turn on the faucet...that is water.
