But you should see there three different confirmations that asteroids are,
at best, *small* planets (also known as “planetoids”: planet-*like* bodies).
The problem with that term is that since 2006 we have *dwarf* planets that
have previously been called “asteroids”, like Ceres.
Also, it is not clear whether an “asteroid” or a *meteorite* has caused the
environmental conditions that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs.
If only you would read what is being (and I have) posted.
> [irrelevant evidence]
Next time, try an *up-to-date* *scientific* dictionary.
Get a *real* name.
And get a *working* newsreader. Unicode 1.0.0 was published in 1991. There
is *no excuse* for using a newsreader in the 21st century that does not
support Unicode. None at all. See also
<http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5536>, “MIME Conformance”.
And *please* stop the mindless crossposting without Followup-To across 4
newsgroups. F'up2 sci.astro set.
> the alumimunium foil on your pointed ears is a little wayyy off...
You are projecting.
> what does your Vulcan dictionary say what an asteroid is????
Unsurprisingly, “asteroid” is {pi'ek'tra} in (Modern) Golic Vulcan;
literally “*small* planet”, from {pi'~} “small” + {ek'tra} “planet” ({ek'~}
+ {tra}, literally
“all/total/complete”-“mass/body/accumulation/assemblage”).
You would do well to recognize the difference. EOD.

Did you see that bit about what an asteroid is called after it hits the earth? Maybe you don't understand the definition of meteorite... the second it touches the ground...it's a meteorite...and even before it touches the ground. It's not my fault if you people are....confused. I'm bringing your confusion to light....

what is the matter ? PBS has told the world about the Russia strike of the one, 2013, asteroid, that itself it blew up inside the atmosphere. ANd we all know that already , is a big joke of bull shit Yet they claim they know and are professionals of asteroids hitting the earth. And they are just now reporting on it... HA HA.. The government shot the dam thing with their laser energy weapon, which is why it blew up yes hurting many in Russia. But you think for one moment, they would tell the truth of it? Not a dam chance. For the people would demand payment for all the damage that was done over in Russia, for their ass hole mistake of shooting the dam thing down. And they also make it sound like it was a baseball size eroid, that entered the surface to paint the picture rosy, of only a small one, when the hole itself, was more than 2 miles wide and there are photos of it. FACT,,, Not to mention, video of the laser tag itself and the droids that launched it. besides, you seem to forget that tesla lived in the late 1800s. And its his laser weapon I speak of. Not to mention, you have no proof of what you have said. Same as, they do not really know that the earth revolves around the sun. Its just a theory... No proof. Only upon entry to the atmosphere, could a rock explode. And it would have to have a hollow reason for this to do so. If it is solid, it will not do so at all, especially after it has entered the atmosphere. Past that point, the gs go away, or, those astronauts that did the same thing, on their return from the moon, would of exploded as well liar that you are ass hole.
