You're right: I know very well what I want (I wrote about it in another post
in this thread), and I like to have control over technologies I use.

For first I setup my personal cloud with nextcloud, quitting all data I could
from online services (google, apple, dropbox, etc.), now I'm studying how to
setup a mastodon server and the news server, and eventually an IRC server :D

Seems I'm preparing for the end of the world, but I'm simply nostalgic of that
good old BBS days :D
