The issue is trying to get iPhoto onto a current mac running current OS.

For example, I was trying to get a friend's pictures off a Time Machine
disk after her laptop died, and getting iPhoto to install on my Sierra
machines was tedious to the point that it was nearly, but not quite,
impossible.
