I was surprised earlier this week when I selected the movie 'Nuremberg' on Netflix and the popup said it was not available on the free tier 'for copyright reason'. I also received the email informing me of a rate hike for the free tier. I wonder if Netflix sees more profit in herding the subscribers into the more expensive plan than the ad supported level? I wound up watching 'Detective Hole'. One of the recurring ads was about a pizza parlor owner examining the feasibility of offering $1 slices. He was successful, with the ad being 'Joe makes the pizza, Excel does the books'. Maybe Netflix has been using Excel.
