Imagine that...A TV show about wannabee singers competing against each 
other for stage time created a lot of gossip column filler about the 
behind the scenes competition for screen time amongst the actors.  Some 
of that was simply publicity for the show.  Some of that was based upon 
the home viewer/fans creating rivalries because they couldn't separate 
the characters from the actors and because they genuinely liked some 
singers more than others and wanted to see their favorites get more 
numbers on the show.  Some of that was simply a fact of every single TV 
show where every actor wishes that (and argues for) their character got 
more storyline than their character gets each week.

That was the major blow for this show as it took out the lead actor and 
a real life (and on screen) couple from the show.

Twisted to believe that a bunch of late 20s/early 30s people are living 
any sort of 'childhood' in the first place, much less one where they go 
out and party all night.

I hope he is opining about some of them rejecting his 'fatherly' advice 
to just get along rather than that they rejected his advice to backstab 
and undermine each other.

 From most reports, Naya Rivera is high maintenance to everyone in her 
life so I hope that Ryan Murphy isn't losing sleep over any animosity 
with her.

He definitely talks as if this was a cast of kids rather than young 
adults.  It would seem that he did let them figure it out for themselves 
(after all, there is ultimately no choice in that matter)...and part of 
that is to accept that some people just don't ever figure it out.  Some 
will continue to act like petulant children, cussing and lying and 
manipulating as best they can.  Best to just leave them to it.
