In Wizardry 6, my superior party was facing likely death in the upcoming battles or else grind bats for a long long time. I moved them to Wizardry 7. Was moving along fairly rapidly until I came to the fungus oozes/puxic slimes in Old City, and it dawned on me that my party was underpowered for offensive magic. You may remember, for a time the samurai was the only Thaumaturgist (fireball/magic missile). Now Klingon (was William) is a bishop with powerful magic missile and I also class changed Lysandr from thief to mage. He has a little over 50 skullduggery which seems sufficient right now. Anyways, what I am up to is improving my swimming skill. My party members are all lvl 8 except Lysandr, level 6 and have 0 skill points in swimming. Some people might have done this sooner, but I think this is actually soon enough. It remains to be seen. I got this hint from ChatGPT on google.com, who said getting swimming skill early on is crucial for the game. In one of my best games I was in the Dane Tower swimming pool fighting poisonous jellyfish and it was a lot of fun. Right now, finishing up Old City - i have a suspicion that releasing Cpt. Boerigard might have triggered Old City invasion by NPCs, because I swear the footprints occurred way early in this game. Oh well, if I don't get the Dragon Map or Fools Map from Old City, it's not the end of the world. Another ChatGPT hint was that winning Wizardry 7 isn't about being fast, it's about being consistent. -- n
