Das ist egal. Zunächst wird nur angenommen dass das Gesetz der
Idealität immer gilt: I soll innerhalb einer technischen Generation
oder Entwicklungsstufe immer in Form einer S-Kurve nach oben steigend
verlaufen. Ausserdem soll weitere Gesetzmäßigkeiten für Entwicklung
geben, z.B. dass diese von starr über gelenkig elastisch in Richtung
Felder verläuft.
Die Idee die dahinter steckt ist folgende: Die Dimensionierungen
und Bewertungen von Aufwand und nützlichen sowie schädlichen
Funktionen beruht auf Regressionsanalysen. Sie Gewichtungen können
sich auch zwischendurch ändern. Ziel ist es demnach Daten so
aufzubereiten dass diese zur Kurvenform passen.
Wenn dies gelingt erlaubt es möglicherweise
a) Prognosen über zukünftige Entwicklungen zu stellen,
um z.B. so etwas wie cloudbasierte Software vorherzusehen
b) etwas über das nachfragende System zu lernen, z.B. ob
die Produktentwicklung vorrangig von Kunden/Nutzern, vom
Controlling oder vom Regulierungsgeber stimuliert wird.
Ene Zahl für I für sich ist kein geeigneter Maßstab zur Bewertung
von irgendwas. Auf den Atom-Editor bezogen wäre die Frage also
nicht der ob diese "idealer" ist als $Anderer_Editor sondern warum
sich dieses Produkt so großer Verbreitung erfreut und was man daraus
lernen könnte.
