Not stupid so much as difficult to coordinate
completely automating all 3 meters at once,
particularly the ones like gas and water which
don't even have any power to run the meter off.

And they don't want to have any meter readers
at all, they want to be able to read all the
meters remotely completely automatically.

You arent supposed to have any with a
properly implemented smart meter system.
