very true, and it's why it has a BETTER chance of success, because I
really think people are about to *REJECT* the idea, particularly with
windows 10.

For worldwide net stats, W10 is relatively flat in the ~6% range,
despite being *FREE*, with a quick spike up front to about 5%, and most
of that is 8.x users switching to 10.

and NOW it's leveling off, even going DOWN a bit...

So that's Microsoft's attempt at marketing a FREE operating system (for
now), which really is NOT free because of the adware and spyware
embedded in it.  THAT and it stinks on ice because of the 2D look
[instead of XP and 7's 3D skeumorphic look], the "start thing" with its
alphabetized 'all apps(sic)' list, "the METRO" in general, FORCED
updates for home users, yotta yotta.

point being, FREE isn't the issue here.  USABILITY and SUPPORT are.

And existing companies like RH *could* take advantage of that.
