They do actually, because they use that considerable time
when driving in to check the local facebook buy sell swap
groups to find the garage sales that do not bother to list
in the local paper because that costs them $40 to advertise
and that can be a substantial part of the revenue they get
from the garage sale. Its completely fucking obvious when
the service has dropped from 3G to 2G in that situation.

AND those recently installed towers aren't going to be 2G ANYWAY.

The area where I observed that drop in the signal
bars that no longer happens due to the new towers
out that way is in fact along a major highway.

I know someone who has that service, because
they were far enough out of town that there
wasn’t any real mobile broadband available
until recently.
