Checking my web logs, I notice that only you,
Slimer, Scott, Ezekiel and a Kalispell Montana guy[*]
checked the screenshot.

He looked at X.CPP as well. ]
On Win8, Ctrl·Wheel zooms the image in the browser,
not the entire sceen. To do that on the mac,
you control·click somewhere on the image.... but, once
you've done that, you can't incrementally zoom, I assume.

Why ? Because Zoom Player ( my video player )
works much better, and has many more features,
than my web browser.
