They do tend to be quite a bit larger... so it really depends on your
purpose. For photos and the like JPGs are often fine. For sharp lines and
the like JPGs are not a good choice. GIFs might work just fine for most of
what you post - the text. For text and images PNGs will serve you best.

I am often surprised by how many people actually read COLA and click my
links. There are lurkers apparently. I rarely check the actual file hits
with my host (though they are available), I mostly use the StatCounter stuff
that relies on JavaScript. If people have a blocker I do not see them. So be
it.

I do very little that relies on JavaScript... though StatCounter does I am
fine with people blocking that and do nothing to stop it or hide the fact I
use it. I do not advertise it on the site either, though.

Redirects to my simple mobile site. I found most mobile users just want the
basic info - they have no desire, for example, for the tools section. You
can go to the full site from the mobile site and it is not great - but few
do. Carroll does this more than all other people combined... he is an odd
one and spends a lot of time digging through my sites.

Don't know. I do label some people's IPs when I am curious... but generally
do not care nor try to find out.

If Ctrl+wheel was not already set up for zooming the full screen I might set
mine to that. As I noted elsewhere, though, the wheeling does not give you
smaller increments.
I rarely zoom, but to see if I like it I might set command with scroll to
zoom in and out in Safari.
