The people who did it are scumbags who should be horsewhipped; but you
have to admire the hack. The ultimate hack would be to infect Mint
update so everyone would get bit.

If they encrypted your files with ransomware you'd know it right away,
but a keylogger could be stealing your passwords for months and you'd
never know it.

This isn't some pimply faced teenagers out for a lark. Russia and
Eastern Europe have a lot of highly skilled hackers, and the Russian
Mafia has a lot of money. It amounts to the power of a nation-state.

There are hundreds of onion sites with stolen pay-pal and bank
accounts, credit cards,etc. There's billions being stolen and I don't
think they can be extradited to the West for small scale theft.
