I assume everyone /is/ using aioe.org, not aoie.org as per
the title??

www.aioe.org states "Server is under maintenacnce, will be
back in a few hours"

There do appear to to be two different servers:-

pinging nntp.aioe.org  gives the IP address 94.75.214.90,
while news.aioe.org  is at 94.75.214.39, so perhaps both
servers are under maintenance, with nntp having gone off
line first, and news later?
