I personally think, that Carl Sagan was wrong, because I think, that 
'Growing Earth' is correct.

This would mean, that matter stems actually from the interior of our own 
home planet, because no star dust could ever get there.

This idea is closely related to the so called 'abiogenic oil' theory.

Because of this connection, you will most likely never ever have heard 
anything about 'Growing Earth', because oil is the biggest business on 
this planet.

And because 'abiogenic oil' might be as old as the periodic system, it 
must be wrong, because otherwise oil is way too abundent for these huge 
profits big oil is making.

So also 'Growing Earth' MUST be wrong, even if the idea is also very old.

So 'stardust' is the cause of everything, but mainly for peoples slumber.
