There were many issues that played part and parcel of the events. For
one thing Hungary was demanding that the Hungarian language be the only
official and only used language in the captive nations, probably one of
the key factors involved. It is easy at this distance to simplify the
issues that the people involved thought important because none of us
today, especially if we are living in the USA, have a sense of the
actual feeling that the people involved were experiencing.

I'll give you another example of oversimplification. The execution of
Jesus Christ involved a lot of issues that we pretty much dismiss today.
but the issues were important to the people involved. Some of those
issues have been slowly creeping back into the modern rendition, but for
centuries they were ignored and dismissed. And if yuo haven't figured it
out yet, another major religious revolution is in the making right now.

Are they important? Not to most people, until the lessons taught by
those events find a modern imperative.

If you don't have the whole story, what you are left with stands a good
chance of driving an unnecessary repetition.

Isn't it interesting that the USA does not have an official language?
That fact is better understood in historical context because humanity
doesn't learn except by the brutality of its own nature.
