Can you go back in time and kill your paresnts before you were born?

Now only takes us into the future
even in slow time order...

Not in classic GR, not even with the Carter time machine in Kerr geometry.
That's because classic GR is fully deterministic and spacetime is fixed.
So the event of youir birth is just there, unchangeable. IOW, the problem
is that there is no free will in such setups, events cannot be "redone".

I have heard, that you can kill your parents (supposed you own a time
machine), but this would not kill you.

If you travel back in time, you will not reach the same past from which
you came, but kind of 'parallel universe' in which you havn't been born.

Actually born there was your local twin. This twin would loose his
parents, but not you, hence you could live on, while your twin would not.

The idea is (as far as I remember) called 'Bifurcation'.

These are points, where timelines split into different worlds, equipped
with several independent copies of yourself.
