I wrote: "broaden my channels"...that means, expand, widen..become
larger in distance from side to side...

why would I confine myself to other science groups?  

Yous needs a change in scenery, culture and interest.

Now, let me see what's out there...

how about crossposting to 12 newsgroups from alt.rock.beatles to
