No.  Nobody is forced to adapt anything.  It's simply a fact that QFT
is about certain types of fields on the Minkowski spacetime.

No, it's not artificially complex, it's as simple as possible while still
remaining consistent with experimental results.  It only seems too
complex to you because you feel frustrated by your inability to
follow it in detail.  Why not find a different hobby?
